Lamma island

One of the many benefits of being a teacher is the undeniably great schedule. No matter how many hours we spend during the week teaching, researching, copying, and cutting; there are always the weekends. Having never experiencing weekends off together, we decided before we moved to Macau that we would spend them having fun; which to us means eating, having a glass of wine, hanging out with friends, hiking, sightseeing, and of course traveling. So far, so good. We exhaust every ounce of energy we have during the week and look forward to whatever the weekend brings us while living in a new country.

One of the other benefits of teaching, is not only having 2 days weekends every week, but also having 3 day weekends every few weeks. For our first 3 day weekend of the school year, we headed to one of the Hong Kong islands named Lamma. Lamma is primarily supported by fishing community and the people who come to Lamma to eat the seafood. There are no cars, no high rise buildings, and no feeling of being in the city. We spent 3 days eating, hiking, going to the beach, and eating. Perfect!

When there's no cars, there are bikes!

We saw more butterflies here than anywhere before.
